Marichka Paplauskaitė is a Ukrainian journalist, editor, and author working in the genre of literary reportage. She is the co-founder of The Ukrainians Media, an independent Ukrainian media organization, and editor-in-chief of Reporters, a print and online magazine dedicated to longform literary reportage and documentary photography. Over more than a decade, she has helped shape Ukraine's contemporary school of narrative non-fiction, editing and publishing hundreds of reported stories – including, since 2022, extensive documentation of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine through the eyes of its witnesses.
She is the author of two books of reportage: The God of Wondrous People and Other Sinners (2019) and The Train Arrives on Time (2024), a book about Ukrainian railways and the people behind them during wartime, with a foreword by Stephen Fry. The book has been translated into Lithuanian, with a German edition forthcoming. She also teaches journalism and lectures on the craft of reportage.
