Odesa International Film Festival Odesa International Film Festival

Odesa International Film Festival is the main festival of national cinema. The OIFF hosts the premieres of the most anticipated national films as well as the debuts of young talents. In addition, the OIFF is a festival of premieres. The OIFF programme focuses on so-called art-mainstream films—films with high artistic quality that are accessible to a wider audience.

The Festival’s objective is to facilitate the respect for and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, to establish an understanding of human dignity as the highest value, to raise the level of civil activity in Ukraine, and to promote the development of documentary filmmaking.

Kyiv International Short Film Festival Kyiv International Short Film Festival

KISFF is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation. Its main aim is to promote short films. The festival is also an occasion for artists to exchange ideas and discuss projects. It wants to empower and encourage filmmakers to present their creative work and promote high-quality and thematically diverse cinema. The festival organises the competition programme, presents thematical film blocks and retrospectives, lectures, workshops, and educational programmes, and tries to integrate Ukrainian short film directors into festival circles worldwide.

'Molodist' Kyiv International Film Festival 'Molodist' Kyiv International Film Festival

Over the course of half a century, 'Molodist' developed from the local, purely professional review of student films of the newly opened Faculty of Cinematography at the Karpenko-Karyi University to a major international event that discovers world-class directors. Nowadays, the Festival is 50 years old, and its goal remains unchanged: to uncover important trends in young cinema development and to help aspiring beginner filmmakers find their way on the world cinema map.

LINOLEUM International Contemporary Animation and Media Art Festival LINOLEUM International Contemporary Animation and Media Art Festival

LINOLEUM International Contemporary Animation and Media Art Festival is the biggest showcase of short independent animation in Ukraine. Launched in 2014 in Kyiv, each year the festival screens around 250 films from all over the world, offers workshops and lectures held by the field's best players, and has a special programme for children. LINOLEUM aims to support animation artists and promote Ukrainian animation worldwide. The objective of the festival is to encourage and celebrate creativity among animators and media artists, as well as promote contemporary animation and media art in Ukraine.

Kharkiv MeetDocs Kharkiv MeetDocs

Kharkiv MeetDocs is an international documentary and feature film festival that focuses on the culture, problems, and everyday life of the eastern regions of Ukraine. The festival’s programmes include screenings of the best films from such festivals as the Sundance Film Festival, the Berlinale, the Cannes International Film Festival, and Oscar nominees and winners. Kharkiv MeetDocs was founded in 2017 by the ideologist and director of the festival, film producer Eugene Kriegsheim.

Kyiv Critics’ Week Kyiv Critics’ Week

Kyiv Critics‘ Week is an international film festival created to introduce Ukrainian viewers to the best new films selected by professional Ukrainian film critics. The festival programme includes films from the line-ups of this year’s major world film festivals, as well as films that have had a significant impact on the history of cinema or are dedicated to prominent figures of cinema.
