Pavlo Matyusha
Based in Kyiv, Ukraine
Pavlo Matyusha's work has been translated into Dutch, English, French, Japanese, Polish, and Romanian, and presented at leading European institutions, including the European Parliament and NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
Shaped by an MBA from HEC Paris and a PhD in Translation Studies, his writing moves between Ukrainian and French literary traditions, most notably in the novel Le Coquelicot (2020) and the poetry collection Paris Spleen (2019). He has contributed to numerous literary anthologies and journals and has a regular presence at major international literary festivals and book fairs, including the Frankfurt Book Fair, Leipzig Book Fair, FILIT Iași, and Voices from Ukraine in Japan. His other books include the fairy tale Eyee (2018), the short novels collection Circle with a Dot (2021), the epistolary book Letters of Love and War (2024, co-authored with his wife Viktoriya Matyusha, published in Romanian translation), and the forthcoming poetry collection Place 11A (2026). He is also co-author and co-performer of Echoes, a stage performance created with poet Olena Herasymiuk.
Pavlo Matiusha is a member of PEN Ukraine.
