Russian war against Ukraine/Discover Ukraine Online

Postcards from Ukraine

About this project

The “Postcards from Ukraine Postcards from Ukraine” project aims to document and illustrate the harm that Russian troops did to Ukrainian culture due to bombings and shelling during the full-scale war that Russia started against Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

Eighty postcards from different regions of Ukraine, each of which tells the story of a particular cultural monument and the circumstances under which it was destroyed or damaged. Eight well-known Ukrainian and foreign cultural and public figures voiced the stories of the destroyed monuments, in particular the British actor Hugh Bonneville, the Lithuanian singer Monika Liu, the Ukrainian football player Andriy Yarmolenko, the Ukrainian band DakhaBrakha, and others.
